She learned to play guitar at the age of thirteen and has since gone on to meet and sing with some of Maine and New Hampshire's finest. Wilma Lee was the first big influence on Barbara's music, and through the years she also took interest in Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn -- and of course the Kings of the business, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and the late Lefty Frizzell. Her
interest in radio shows stems from a need to see country music continue,
as well as the belief that country-western music tells the whole story
of life -- as it was then, as it is now, and as it should always be --
from the HEART. **************************************** Music Lovin' Jo Stevens - Click here to visit Jo Stevens Location: Maine Joyce was born in Hermon, Maine, and she's been a music and dance lover for as long as she can remember. At the age of 12, her mother bought her a guitar, which she promptly taught to herself. Admittedly, however, she still has a few tricks to learn! Joyce
recently recorded her first and only CD to date, titled "Traditional
Country." She plays at numerous jams and plays just about anytime
someone asks her to be there. Joyce and her jamming friends play at nursing
homes and senior citizens homes. Music is her life and it is in her soul. **************************************** Wies Boonstra - available on PALTALK Location: Netherlands Wies has always been a great fan of country music, but ever since she met Gary Bradshaw of WHP she's been addicted to independent country!
**************************************** Les Swazzo - Click here to visit Les Swazzo Location: New Jersey Les has always loved Country Music. In 2004 he was given the opportunity to DJ for the Original Country Radio Network, where he now has his own show. Les has a wonderful collection of classic country music, including rare tracks that you won't hear anywhere else. He is also a huge supporter of new independent artists and songwriters, and his playlist includes many of their cuts. Les can also be heard on the Real Deal Gospel Show which he co-hosts with Margie Cumbie every Sunday afternoon on OCRN's Country Gospel station. |
